Hi, friends! This is Lindsey with another update on how you can pray for North Park. After listening to the leaders at North Park talk about what’s on their hearts, I chose “follow” as this week’s prayer theme. Our job is not to lead God; it is our privilege to follow Him. North Park is incredibly blessed to have leaders that realize their greatest role is to be a follower of the Lord. They seek to walk humbly with Him, not in front of Him. I’m thankful that they choose to lead North Park by following God instead of trying to lead God. That is our focus as we pray for North Park in this season. We want to follow where He leads, which is firmly rooted in praying for Him to take the lead. I hope you’ll join me as I make that my prayer for North Park while praying through the following topics:
F - family. Let’s continue to pray for our North Park family. Each person faces their own battles and struggles, so we can pray for the Lord to be near to them and encourage them. May He remind them of His overwhelming grace and love.
O – opportunity. There’s always an opportunity to get involved at North Park! The bulletin stays up to date with ways each person can serve the Lord alongside their church family. From the Ministry of Encouragement to our “ministry on the move” events, these ministries create an opportunity to share the love of Christ with the community. Let’s pray for the Lord to use these opportunities to glorify His name and serve His people.
L – leadership team. Let’s continue to pray for the leadership team as they serve at North Park. We can ask the Lord to give each leader wisdom as they seek to follow Him, and we can pray that He would use these leaders to guide North Park towards His will, His way.
L – leaders. Let’s remember to pray for our servant-hearted leaders, David and Mark. Both of these guys desire to be faithful and obedient to each task the Lord calls them to – so let’s praise the Lord for them. We can also look to the Lord to renew them, giving both of them strength and perseverance as they seek the Lord’s best for North Park. We can pray that He would encourage them as they continue to lead North Park by following Almighty God.
O – overgrowth. First, we can thank the Lord for how many people are gathering at North Park. We can praise Him for the overgrowth that we see in the parking lot on Sunday morning. Second, we can pray that the Lord would use this overgrowth to bring North Park closer to Him during this season. We can pray that the new schedule would provide new opportunities for North Park to make disciples! We can also ask the Lord to give the leaders at North Park insight as we approach the new schedule and season. May He direct them towards what He has in store for North Park!
W - will. Let’s boldly pray for the Lord’s will to be done in us and through us. As we look to the Lord to accomplish His will at North Park, let’s pray that nothing would hinder His will or His timing. We know that we need the Lord to guide us as we follow where He leads, so let’s ask Him to do what only He can do: provide as we proceed. As we confess that we need His provision, let’s also praise Him for how He has provided and continues to provide for North Park. Since we cannot fulfill His will without Him, let’s pray that the leadership at North Park would continue to pray and listen to the God who can do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine.
